Dear Student Leaders of the Ivy League,

We are honored to extend an invitation to attend the 8th Annual Ivy Leadership Summit at the University of Pennsylvania from February 1-2, 2008.

This monumental and groundbreaking conference will explore the application of leadership in theory, practice and action through interactive case studies, workshops, panel discussions, keynote speeches, and historical excursions. The Summit will feature 30 premier speakers in the fields of academia, business, government, and humanitarianism, such as keynote speaker Pennsylvania Governor and former Chair of the Democratic National Committee, Ed Rendell, and panelist Jay Hein, Deputy Assistant to the President and Director of the Office of Faith-Based and Community Initiatives.

Held in the historical and lively city of Philadelphia, this conference will truly strengthen all of our leadership capabilities as individuals while reinforcing our bond within the Ivy League and beyond. As the world continually changes and the term leadership is ever-evolving, let us not miss this transition, but rise to meet the challenge and better explore each of our qualities as student leaders within our celebrated institutions.

The Ivy Leadership Summit brings us together from across the League to join noteworthy professors, government officials, activists, and prominent leaders of several organizations. Stimulating speeches, progressive panels, and many passionate student and adult leaders alike will combine to create an unmatched learning experience for all.

The panel discussions, case studies, and workshops that will provide us with an in-depth analysis of leadership in theory, practice and action will better equip us for the world ahead of us by enabling us to fully examine the creation and cultivation of a leader. By interacting with one another and listening to speeches by several of the brightest minds in their fields, we will each have the ability to hone our leadership skills. We are confident that this conference will increase awareness for student activism and contribute to our mission of developing innovative student leaders throughout the Ivy League.
