Cost of Attendance

The Ivy Council strives to lower the cost of participating in our international program as much as possible for students. The following expenses, thanks to our partners at Wuhan University, will additionally be covered for: Meal, Lodging, Admission to museums and attractions, amd Transportation between conference events

In addition to the above costs, Ivy Council and Wuhan University will be subsidizing the majority of airfare costs; however, with tickets from certain departure points exceeding $2400, we will be able to cover most, but not all of the transportation costs. Depending on the departure point and the fluctuation of airfare prices, selected delegates will be asked to pay between $300 and $600 for transportation. In addition to transportation fees, the Chinese embassy charges a fee of $140 to register for a tourist visa. I will personally guide the selected delegates through the process of applying for a Chinese visa.

    • Visa: $140
    • Transportation: TBD $300 – $600

If finances prove to be the only limiting factor in a student’s decision to attend, the Ivy Council will do everything it can to assist the student in finding the needed support.

Delegation Selection Process

Because of the relationship the Ivy Coucil has with Wuhan University, Ivy China: Wuhan delegates are treated as special guests to the Wuhan University International Exchange of Student Organizations. In the previous year, the Ivy Council delegation was assisted by specially-assigned student guides, participated in a number of media interviews published in local newspapers, magazines and on television, and performed several speeches at the camp’s special banquets and closing ceremonies.

Ivy Council and Wuhan University are seeking delegates who best reflect the diversity, talent and personal drive that has come to define Ivy League students. Application readers will review student’s academic  and personal interests, extracurricular involvement, leadership experiences, communication skills, as well as relationship with the Ivy Council. The delegation will consist of 4-5 students, depending on the interest in the program as indicated by the number of applications as well as available resources. The Ivy Council encourages all Ivy League students to apply for Ivy China: Wuhan.
